Family Time in Juno
I wrote a piece for the Winter issue of Juno Magazine about how to make family board game playing more harmonious this Christmas.
The article is published in their ‘Family Time’ section and contains six tips for fewer arguments this festive season.

A socially distanced Christmas
Your Healthy Living Magazine has published an article on ‘top tips for a socially distanced Christmas celebration’ and Dark Imp games are mentioned. Here’s the quote:
“Christmas just isn’t the same without a board game, but what about social distancing? Ellie Dix of www.thedarkimp.com has developed a range of board games that can be played via video conferencing. With dice and score sheets, everyone plays simultaneously and you can have any number of players playing at the same time. Just add some organic mulled wine!”

Christmas tips for the seasoned board gamer
It’s a common lament from hobby board gamers that they can’t get their families to play games with them. Christmas may be the only time of the year when they can persuade their nearest and dearest to join them at the table. Even then, the experience can be fraught with tension and possibly quite disappointing.
I was asked to write an article for Tabletop Spirit Magazine with some advice for board gamers who are trying to play games with family this Christmas. Tabletop Spirit is a free digital publication and you can read the whole magazine for free online. My article is on page 6.

The Ultimate Christmas Booklist
Anita Cleare from Thinking Parenting has published her Ultimate Christmas Booklist. I’m now pretty used to the Dark Imp games being added to gift guides (as you can see from this and the last few updates) but it was a lovely surprise for The Board Game Family: Reclaim your children from the screen to make it onto a curated list.
She says: “The Board Game Family by Ellie Dix will help you turn your annual Boxing Day board game into a regular fixture in your family time. Perfect for low tech fun family time all year round!” Lovely.
A podcast about Uranus!
Uranus! – my new cooperative game for 3-6 players – will be coming to Kickstarter in March. You can find out more about the game and register for campaign notifications here.
Prior to the launch of the Kickstarter it’s important to get copies to board game reviewers. I’m really excited because the printed elements for the review copies have now landed. I’m just waiting for the wooden components to arrive and I can get them out.
Uranus! is in the final of the Board Game Workshop’s Annual design competition. There are 7 games in the final. Hopefully, we’ll find out the results soon! All seven finalists are interviewed on the latest Board Game Workshop podcast, which you can listen to!
